About

We exist to worship God, make disciples of Christ, and serve our community with His love.

Our Purpose:   At Cross Life Community Church, our goal is to live out God’s calling – our vision and mission statements inform everything we do as a church family.

Our Vision :   We exist to worship God, make disciples of Christ, and serve our community with His love.

Our Mission :   We desire to see our vision fulfilled by:
  1. Inviting all to gather for worship with song and obedience to biblical teaching.
  2. Teaching God’s Word and leading our children and adults to become disciple-making disciples using their God-given talents.
  3. Engaging in Christ-centered fellowship. We meet regularly in nurturing Life Groups (small groups), a core ministry where we connect, grow, and serve together.
  4. Exhorting believers to be empowered with Christ’s love to reach out to those around them.

Core Beliefs :   As a member church of the Southern Baptist Convention, we stand by the following about:
  1. God: We believe that there is one true God, who is eternal and reveals Himself as three distinct personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and sustainer of the universe. God is all powerful, all knowing, and all wise. He reigns with providential care over the universe and the flow of human history is according to His purposes and plan.
  2. The Scriptures: We believe that the Bible is the Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is the sole authority for life, and the primary tool the Holy Spirit uses to grow people toward Christ-likeness. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired and the only inerrant, infallible, authoritative Word of God inherent in the original writings.
  3. God the Son: We believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, was born of a virgin, is fully God and fully man, lived a sinless life, died as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose from the grave and ascended into Heaven.

Deacon James Chang

Currently, I serve as the deacon overseeing administration which includes finance and media. I see my gifts in supporting the “behind the scenes” of our church so that we are good stewards of God’s resources as we serve those at Cross Life and those seeking God. I also oversee the development of our website, working with talented, faithful volunteers.  God has blessed me with a wonderful wife and 3 beautiful children.

Deacon Mike Chi

I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior during the summer of 1982. Since then, my life has revolved around Jesus in everything I do and know. Here at Cross Life, I have the privilege to serve as the Worship Ministry leader and I facilitate the Central Life Group. I’ve been married to my wonderful wife Judy going on 26 years and we have 3 amazing sons.

Deacon Michael Park

I am responsible for planning, coordinating, and communicating church-wide fellowship activities. I work to create opportunities for Christians to be with other believers to encourage, teach, serve, and change the lives of others together. I’ve been married to my wonderful wife Chi for 17 years and we have 2 wonderful daughters.

Deacon Heather Castro

My family immigrated to the US as Buddhists. I attended church, for social reasons, but came to know Jesus as my Savior in the 6th grade. As I grew older, my relationship with God evolved. There were times I turned away but He has never left my side. God has never failed me, and I try everyday not to fail Him, and even when I do, He forgives and loves me.

Deacon Joseph Lee

As a member of the Servant Leader Team, Pastor John and I care for our Small Groups. We develop and support our groups to provide a welcoming and open environment where our members can connect, grow, serve and invite others to act out our faith in our communities around us.  We hope to do this is by having biblically based studies, meaningful fellowship, and community service and outreach opportunities. Don’t miss out on God’s calling on you to connect deeper with Him and His people!
