Leadership
As the Chief Equipping Officer at Cross Life Community Church (Eph 4:12-16), my mission is to lead others into profound transformation, embodying Christ-likeness. I thrive on helping individuals uncover and embrace their unique God-given potential, fostering a community that flourishes with purpose.
I hold a B.A. in Theology from Seattle Pacific University and an MDiv from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Beyond my church leadership, I am a Board Certified Hospice Chaplain, extending my ministry to both the city and the congregation.
My greatest blessings are my wife, Candice, and our three incredible children: Ellie, Elias, and Elyam. The outdoors invigorate me, especially when I can catch and cook my own meals.
I joined CLCC in September of 2023. I have served in the church ministry for over two decades. I planted a church in Colorado and pastored for the last ten years before I moved to Washington.
I attended Gateway Seminary (aka. Golden Gate Theological Seminary) from 2009-2011 and graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree.
I have been married to Jihyun, my best friend, since 2005 and have four children: Rachel, Joshua, Taylor, and Caleb.
For fun I love watching soccer games (Premier League), visiting new places, exploring new coffee shops, trying new food, and enjoying walks with my wife.
My name is Jie Kim, and I have the privilege of serving as the children’s director at Cross Life Community Church. Cross Life Kids’ mission statement is partnering with families to raise children to love God and love others.
The Children’s Ministry team strives towards this mission by educating the children about the love of God through the Bible, creating opportunities for our children to serve, and fostering a joyful and exciting environment. I carefully select the Sunday School curriculum; lead the children’s service on Sundays; plan special events; recruit and train volunteers; communicate the Children Ministry’s needs with the Servant Leadership Team, and work with parents for collaboration and support.
I am very excited to serve in this ministry as God has placed in my heart a passion for educating young children. In the past, God has led me to roles in serving children as an elementary teacher, Tae Kwon Do instructor, Sunday school teacher, and interim children’s director.
My husband Hyon and I have been married for twelve years and are blessed with three children. When I am not running around after three little ones at home, I enjoy cooking and hosting dinners for friends and family, decorating my home, singing karaoke, trying out new restaurants, and going to the gym.
Deacons
Every year, our church nominates a new deacon to take the place of those whose terms are up. Deacons help shape the direction and make important decisions within the church alongside the pastors.
